Eva Longoria - The Sexy Housewife

Eva Longoria is everyone’s favorite neighbor. The sexy latina is known by people all over the world as Gabrielle Solis, the character that she plays on the television show Desperate Housewives. The talented actress is now a famous celebrity and model. Eva is very active in many charity causes, especially to help children. She is also very involved in the ALMA awards each year to recognize positive portrayals of latinos in the media.

Eva Jacqueline Longoria was born March 15, 1975, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is the youngest of four girls in a Mexican-American farming family.
As a child, Eva thought she was ugly compared
to her sisters because of her dark features. She wanted to be a model but was rejected.

After high school, Longoria got a B.S. degree in kinesiology at Texas A&M University. In 1998, she entered and won the Miss Corpus Christi beauty pageant. She then entered a talent contest and was signed by an agent in Los Angeles. This led to some small parts in American novelas.

Her first big role was playing the crazy Isabella on the The Young and The Restless. After a few small parts in other television shows, Eva landed the job as adulterous Gabrielle in Desperate Housewives. The show was a hit and her career took off almost overnight. She was nominated for a Golden Globe award and received an ALMA award the following year.

Eva’s first movie role was with Michael Douglas in The Sentinel. There have been a few other movies along the way, but nothing really big yet. She is considering more work in movies to follow her great success in television.

The sexy latina won many fans and international recognition as a hot female star. Eva was ranked number one by Maxim magazine two years in a row and was on the cover of their 100th anniversary issue in April 2006. Longoria was in FHM’s pinup calendar for 2005 and on their list of 100 Sexiest Women in the World. Eva has been on Los 50 Más Bellos list for People in Español several times. She was featured on the cover of this year's issue.

In January 2007, sensual Eva was chosen to be the leading model for Bebe Sport. The beautiful latina also does promotions for L’Oreal, Hanes, and many other companies.

In 2006, she founded Eva's Heroes, a charity to help disabled children and their families. She is
the spokesperson for PADRES Contra El Cancer. Longoria is very concerned about latino health issues, and she supports many causes to help children and families. Eva has even produced a documentary about the children of migrant farm workers.

Eva married professional N.B.A. basketball player Tony Parker in July of 2007. Tony is French, so they had a grand wedding in Paris. When her television series is over, they plan to move to France.

But I doubt if she will ever become a desperate housewife in real life . . .
